Ja to dejansko na nobeni kupljeni sadiki ne piše, niti na strani, kjer prodajajo sadike, tako da ne vem točno._________________Iščem zanimive sadne vrste...

živjo,
diospyros virginiana (ameriški ˝persimmon˝) je zmeraj cepljen na diospyros virginiana, prav tako križanci d. virginiana x d. kaki (nikitskaja... )... če me spomin ne vara, se mora ujemati tudi število kromosomov (60 oz. 90) - informacije so po virih različne;
diospyros kaki je lahko cepljen na diospyros lotus oz. diospyros virginiana, tudi na diospyros kaki...
na severu je cepljenje kakija na d. virginiana ustaljena praksa (boljša odpornost na mraz), pri nas so ga do pred nedavnim cepili le na d. lotus (lažja priprava podlage), je pa v primerih
cepljenja d. kaki na d. lotus uspeh odvisen tudi od kompatibilnosti kultivarja d. kaki in osnove d. lotus (npr. tipo odlična, fuyu pa slaba...) - tudi tu se podatki razlikujejo od vira do vira.

Ampak mfranc, okus! Okus po marelici, kot bi v zrelo marelico ugriznil! Nisem pričakoval tega, prej kak trpek okus po nezrelem kakiju! Dobesedno sem se sesedel! Noro!

American Persimmons (Diospyros virginiana) are native to the Eastern United States. Also known as Common Persimmons, Eastern Persimmons, Possumwood, or just Simmon.

They're small, typically about one inch in diameter. They're golden and sometimes have a reddish blush and freckles. When ripe, their skins wrinkle and their flesh softens. They'll easily shake from a tree, or will fall on their own (if you happen upon a tree, look for fallen fruit, those are guaranteed to be ripe). Ripe American Persimmons taste like a tangy, apricot-y, caramel-y pudding. Unripe fruits are overwhelmingly bitter and tannic and will make your mouth pucker accordingly.

Fun facts!
- Most American Persimmon trees are either male or female, but one variety (the Meader) has been bred to be self-fertile.
- There is a rare form of the species (Diospyros virginiana atra) which produces dark, almost black, persimmons.
- Folklore states that frost is necessary for the fruits to ripen -- that's cute, but not true.
- Persimmon seeds were used as a coffee substitute when there was a trade blockade between the North and the South during the Civil War.
- Persimmon seeds were used as buttons on confederate soldiers' uniforms.
- The oldest written account of an American Persimmon was from Thomas Harriot in his Brief and True Report of the New Found Land of Virginia, originally published in 1588, in which he described them as “not good until they be rotten.” He described ripe American Persimmons as “luscious sweet.”
- Several Native American tribes had been using the tree for its fruit and wood (the American Persimmon tree is a relative of ebony, so even the wood is good) for centuries prior to Harriot's documentation._________________Več jih posadiš, več jih ostane za tabo....

So že pokojne, smo se namučili z njimi - celih deset komadov Wink

Nisem si pa še vzel čas, da raziščem motnjo; letos jih je bilo približno polovica zelo prizadetih s temnimi lisami, ki niso samo površinske, ampak gredo globoko v meso in so zelo moteče. Kaj vem, biološka motnja, pomanjkanje nečesa ..... nevem_________________mfranc

Ker sva v istem ˝klimatskem kotlu˝ me zanima, kdaj ti je rodila - rodi časovno blizu tudi kaki tipo?
Ste bili zadovoljni z okusom, se lahko primerjata nikita in tipo po okusu?

Me muči firbec, mogoče se letos še da kje kaj dobiti. Very Happy
